Michael Mansouri
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO)


Michael Mansouri is a technology visionary CEO who brings more than 30 years of leadership experience in global high tech businesses. Mr. Mansouri has a proven track record in general management, P&L management, sales and marketing. He is skilled in raising capital, building sales channels, scaling companies to profitability, successfully conducting M&A and IPO activities.

Mr. Mansouri began his career in high tech consulting leading to Sprint International where he held a host of senior management positions over 10 years in sales, marketing, and P&L Management leading to formation of Global one. At ACSI, as EVP of Advanced Data Services, he participated in fund raising of $180M and built company’s data business including the first nationwide ATM network in 1996. At Intermedia Communications, Mr. Mansouri was EVP of enhanced data services and led acquisition of Digex in 1997, which drove the stock price from $15 to $83 per share within 12 months post acquisition. In 1998, he became COO of broadband services at Teleglobe Business Solutions. Between 1999 and 2001, Mr. Mansouri served as Chairman, President and CEO of iPass Inc., a premier provider of global remote access services. He raised $75 million, grew revenues from $3 to $63M, grew margins to over 60% with a successful exit in 2003 (NASDAQ:IPAS) for $1.8 Billion. Mr. Mansouri joined OmniTrust Security Systems, as President and CEO in 2002. He completed series B funding, commercially launched multiple products in Japan, built the sales channels in Asia and sold the company in 2005 to Heisei Denden of Japan.

Mr. Mansouri earned a succession of degrees including B.S. in Computer Science and Statistics from Utah State University, MS in Management Sciences from George Washington University (Omega Rho) and the MIT Sloan School of Management program in corporate strategy. Joseph B. Chopek
President


Prior to the creation of Avalon Global Solutions, Joe Chopek was President and co-founder of The Net Results Group, Inc. (NRG), and the was founder of and principal shareholder in the Net Results, Inc., NRG’s precursor. NRG was a Telecom Expense Management and Mobile Lifecycle Management provider based in Hampton, VA. Mr. Chopek brings over 30 years of business and marketing experience to AGS and he heads domestic and international business development and strategic partnership relations. Mr. Chopek was a founder of Blue Ridge Telephone, a long distance interexchange carrier, and of Telemanagement Services, a billing software company. After found Blue Ridge Telephone in 1985, Chopek sold it to a public company in 1995. Mr. Chopek earned a B.S. degree in Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy and a M.S. in Business and Finance from George Washington University. He is an honorably discharged U.S. Marine Corps Officer and a Vietnam Era Disabled Veteran. Mr. Chopek is serving his second two-year term as a Director at Large for TEMIA, the Telecom Expense Management Industry Association where he is a founder and member of the TEMIA Ethics Committee and a member of the Recruiting Committee. Chopek is also Founder and Chairman of the TEMIA Acquisitions and Investment Committee.

 

 

David M. Russie
Chief Sales Officer (CSO), Board of Directors, Corporate Secretary


Prior to the creation of Avalon Global Solutions, Inc., David Russie was Chairman, CEO and co-founder of Net Results Group, Inc. (NRG), a leading Telecom Expense Management provider based in Hampton, VA. Mr. Russie has over 20 years of technology, telecommunications and operations experience including AT&T where he led a team that won the Malcolm Baldridge Award. AT&T experience with AT&T College and University solutions, a entrepreneurial SBU, holding many managerial and leadership positions helping grow from 40 clients to almost 500.

As CSO, Mr. Russie oversees AGS' commercial and government sector Direct and Indirect sales channels as well as Marketing. Mr. Russie holds a BA from Eastern Michigan University, a M.S. in Information Management and Communication from Walsh College, and completed an Executive MBA program from AT&T/Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania.

 

Mark Goettling
Chief Financial Officer, Director

Mr. Goettling began working for El Camino Resources, Ltd. and REAL Solutions, IBM’s largest value added reseller in North America, after four years analyzing and managing technology assets for CMI Corporation, a large technology leasing concern. Beginning as corporate controller and advancing to the position of CFO, Mr. Goettling developed financial, merger and acquisition, information technology, tax, and operational capabilities of the organization over a 12-year period. During this time, revenues grew from $50 million to approximately $1.2 billion and the number of employees expanded from 40 to over 1,200. By 1998 the company had operations on four continents and in over 15 countries; numerous acquisitions of leasing companies, value-added resellers (VARs), and professional service firms fueled this growth. Mr. Goettling lead the acquisition due diligence, negotiation, financing and integration efforts from 1991-1999.

 

In 1999 Mr. Goettling accepted the challenge of overseeing development of the company’s professional services organization. As Executive Vice President of REAL (VAR and professional service business), he led an aggressive plan to create an international technical services organization to supplement the declining profit margins in REAL’s VAR business. Mr. Goettling graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting.

 

Since 2001 Mr. Goettling has lead Comstructure from start up to an established telecom management platform and services company. Predominantly internally funded and profitable, the company has reinvested it earnings and developed its proprietary web based TEM (Telecom Expense Management) application for sale on a subscription basis to enterprise clients and municipalities. As President and CEO, Mr. Goettling was responsible for the company’s financial, operational and technology vision and strategy.

 

 

Ray Kalantar, PhD
CTO and Vice President of Product Development


Dr. Kalantar has over twenty eight years of experience in Information Technology that includes System Architecture, Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Software Configuration Management (SCM), System Integration, Telecom Expense Management, Mobile Device Management and Program Management. He has held management positions at Northrop Grumman Corp., MCI/WorldCom, and Washington Consulting Group and has successfully managed and implemented critical information systems for both Federal Government and Private sectors. Dr. Kalantar is an Adviser to the Avalon’s Board of Directors and reports directly to the Chairman and CEO. Dr. Kalantar holds a B.S. degree in Engineering, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Economics.

 

Marshall Weingarden
Vice President Professional Services, Board of Directors


Mr. Weingarden has 40-years experience in telecommunications and information technology including 32-years as President of Communication Advisors, Inc. Mr. Weingarden has extensive Bell System experience and over 35-years of telecommunications and telecommunications management consulting experience involving wired and RF technologies, IT technology and networks, call centers and educational technology for public schools and universities. He developed and implemented project management processes for large, multi-vendor projects, was an early developer of telecom inventory and call accounting software and holds a U.S. patent for an Integrated Learning System. Mr. Weingarden is on the Board of Directors and manages AGS’ Bid & Proposal process, pricing and contract review. Mr. Weingarden holds a B.A. degree from Wayne State University.


Steven P. Rottinghaus

Executive Vice President Agent and Partner Sales


Steven Rottinghaus was the Chief Marketing Officer of Net Results Group, Inc. (NRG), a leading Telecom Expense Management and Mobile Lifecycle Management provider in Hampton, VA. Mr. Rottinghaus is a respected consultant on Human Capital, Human Performance, Sales, Sales Management, and Marketing. At AGS, Mr. Rottinghaus is responsible for recruiting, training, management and leadership of the Avalon Global Solutions Agent and Partner sales program.

Mr. Rottinghaus’ career has been focused on Sales and Sales Management as well as executive leadership. He co-founded and served as CEO of The Pace Group, a firm specializing in Corporate Training and Human Performance Management Consulting, subsequently sold to Sylvan Learning Systems. Mr. Rottinghaus earned a B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Northern Iowa.

 

L. Scott Perry
President, Avalon Advanced Mobility Solutions (AAMS)


L. Scott Perry leads Avalon Advanced Mobility Solutions (AAMS), the joint venture of AGS and GPXS. Mr. Perry is also currently the President and a board member of GPXS Holdings and a board member of GPXS Services AG. Prior assignments include 13 years as AT&T Vice President and corporate officer, with leadership roles in Strategy/Business Development, New services Marketing and Sales and 15 years as an IBM senior executive with assignments in General Management, Marketing, and Sales management. Prior to joining IBM, Mr. Perry was a Naval Officer. Mr. Perry holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Cornell University and a Masters in Management from Stanford University. He was a Sloan Fellow at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
